Properties: Anti-inflammatory, astringent, antimicrobial, vulnerary, diaphoretic, antiseptic, antimicrobial, carminative, diuretic, diaphoretic relaxant, styptic. Yarrow may be used to help stop external bleeding, wound healing, cuts, abrasion, acne, varicose veins, haemorrhoids, both keeping wounds clear of infections and clearing infections, reducing skin inflammation, healing wounds & infections in the mouth. Yarrow can also help with increasing the sweating process during a cold or flu, as well as ease a sore throat, help with sinus & respiratory congestion, help with coughs, be used to help with urinary tract infections and support digestion when used as a bitter,
Use: Tea, tincture, infused oil, poultice, steam, infusion, wash, salve.
Precautions: Caution with using yarrow internally during pregnancy. If allergic to plants in the Asteraceae family, use yarrow with caution, although rare, an allergic reaction to yarrow could occur.
