Aromatic Description: Intense, warm, herbaceous, spicy, sharp almost terpene-like

Colour/Characteristics: Clear to pale yellow liquid

Main Chemical Constituents: Thymol, linalool, α-pinene, paracimene, terpine-4-ol

Blends well with:  Kunzea, ginger, lavender, peppermint, rosemary, rosalina, eucalyptus, tea tree, pine, sweet orange, neroli, sandalwood.

Properties/Uses: Analgesic, antibacterial,  antifungal, antioxidant, antirheumatic, antiviral, expectorant, rubefacient, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitussive, bactericide, cardiac, carminative, cicatrisant, emmenagogue, expectorant, hypertensive, insecticide, nervine, stimulant, sudorific, tonic, vermifuge.  May be used to treat upper respiratory conditions, respiratory infections, congestion, expectorant, coughs, colds, sore throats, asthma, whooping cough, bronchitis, gastrointestinal infections, urinary infections, viral infections, fungal infections, digestive stimulant, digestive upsets, flatulence, abdominal distention, rheumatic pain, gout, arthritis, sporting injuries, cramping pain, 

Energetics: May be used to help relieve mood swings, confusion, feeling disconnected, feelings of distress, stuck emotions, when we are fatigued, depressed or lethargic.  Thyme may help to revive and strengthen both our body and mind and is considered especially beneficial during convalescence.  It can help to energise us while alleviating despondency.

Use: Compress, massage, direct inhalation, diffuser, oil burner, oil vaporiser, ointment, balm, not recommended for use in the bath due to possible sensitising.
