Blends Well With: Neroli, bergamot, lavender, sweet orange, sandalwood, petitgrain, helichrysum, palmarosa, patchouli, sweet marjoram, rose, geranium, ylang ylang

Properties/Uses: Anti-inflammatory, antiviral, sedative, bactericidal, analgesic, antidepressant, antifungal, antispasmodic, anxiolytic, nervine, hypotensive.  Melissa Leaf may be used to help treat nausea, vomiting, indigestion, digestive cramps, flatulence, herpes simplex virus, shingles, oily skin, acne, eczema, insect bites, insomnia, neuralgia and agitation.

Energetics: Melissa leaf may be used to help relieve anxiety, mood swings, melancholia, depression, feelings of being overwhelmed, agitation, restlessness and insomnia.  It can help open and strengthen our heart to unconditional love, acceptance and inner contentment.  

Use: Massage, skin care, direct inhalation, diffuser, oil vaporiser, oil burner, ointment, balm salves.  Due to Melissa oil being a possible sensitiser, it is not recommended to use in the bath.  

Safety: No contraindications known, non-toxic.  Melissa Leaf is a possible sensitiser an dermal irritant, it is recommended to take care when using Melissa leaf oil.  Tisserand & Young recommend a dermal maximum of 0.9% Has GRAS status.
