Bergamot essential oil may be used to help treat digestive issues, nausea, regulate appetite, indigestion, acne, oily complexion, insomnia, stress, nervous tension, depression, anxiety, irritability.
Energetics: Bergamot essential oil may help to promote emotional stability, while reducing irritability, frustration, moodiness, pessimism, mild depression and negative thinking. Safety: No contraindications known. This oil is considered phototoxic, exposure to sunlight or sunbed rays should be avoided after skin application for up to 24 hours. Tisserand & Young recommend a maximum dermal limit of 0.4%. They also recommend due to the limonene content, oxidation of bergamot oil should be avoided by storing in a dark, airtight container in the fridge. Has GRAS status.
